The Journey from the Little House to the Big House
“You will show me the path of life” (Psalm 16:11).
The Lord led the Psalmist David on an incredible journey. In Psalm 16:11, David said God had showed him, “The Path of Life.” This path led him from the little house; his father Jesse’s house, to God’s Big House to fulfill his purpose as king of Israel. David declared in Psalm 23:6 that he would dwell in the House of the Lord forever. The little house represents your earthly father’s house; the Big House is your Heavenly Father’s house where you live out the purpose God created you for. The little house is the place of preparation; preparing you for the Big House. Many people, however, have not discovered the joy of living in purpose; of living in their full identity in the Big House. These people are still stuck in the little house. Study the following Scriptures and determine if you are living in the little house or the Big House.
