I want to take a moment to share with you my quiet time from this morning.

As I am here sitting looking over the beautiful lake this morning at our new location, Whitestone Country Inn in Tennessee, I am in awe. I am in awe as I watch the sky come alive with brilliant colors as the sun rises across the mountains. The glorious sight of this sunrise is accompanied by a soft breeze blowing through the trees and the birds singing their good morning song. I am in awe of the beauty of God’s creation and then I hear Him whisper “Come up Higher.”

I look up higher and there, watching me from a tree top, is a majestic eagle. Yes, the most majestic of all birds, the eagle! As he looks my way and then turns from side to side looking across the lake, I understand Isaiah 40:31 even more than ever.

“But those who wait for the Lord [who expect, look for, and hope in Him] will gain new strength and renew their power; They will lift up their wings [and rise up close to God] like eagles [rising toward the sun]; They will run and not become weary, they will walk and not grow tired.” (Isaiah 40:31 AMP)

Those who look and hope for the Lord will expect to see His glory. They aren’t looking down at their circumstances, they are looking up to the heavens and watching to see God’s glory! As they wait for His movement, they wait in awe and wonder of what God is going to reveal. Look up higher today and you will see God’s glory and as you expect to see Him, He will be faithful to pull back the curtain and show you His mighty acts.
